Kayak World (“Kayak World”, “we”) operates guided kayak tours from Three Anchor Bay, Cape Town. This notice explains what personal information the business collects, why, and what happens to it.

What Kayak World collects

  • Name, email address and phone number when a booking is made
  • Number of guests and any details needed to run the tour safely, such as age of children or relevant health information that guests choose to share
  • Payment details, which are processed by Yoco and never stored by Kayak World
  • Basic website usage data, such as pages visited and device type, collected through cookies and analytics tools

Why it is collected

  • To confirm and manage bookings
  • To contact guests about their tour, including weather or schedule changes
  • To run tours safely
  • To process payments and keep financial records
  • To understand how the website is used and improve it

Kayak World sends marketing emails only to guests who have agreed to receive them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.

Who it is shared with
Kayak World uses trusted service providers to operate: Shopify (website and checkout), Bókun (booking management), Yoco (payments), and booking platforms such as Expedia and Google when a booking comes through them. These providers handle information only as needed to deliver their service. Some of them store data outside South Africa. Kayak World does not sell personal information.

How long it is kept
Booking and financial records are kept for as long as the law requires, then deleted. Marketing contacts are kept until they unsubscribe.


Security
Kayak World takes reasonable steps to protect personal information, including limiting access to the people who need it.

Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), a person may ask to see the information held about them, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Requests can be sent to [email address]. Complaints can also be taken to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
